CGCC Family Bible Study: Mark

As we continue to track our way through the New Testament together as a church, we pray that this has been a time of growth and deepening your faith. Our family has really enjoyed the fellowship and conversations we’ve had on the Thursday evening meetings, and we look forward to picking them back up in the new year.

Yesterday was our last reading in Matthew, today we start our journey through Mark’s Gospel!

Personally, I’ve always considered Mark’s Gospel account to be a page-turner, especially if you’re reading through Mark in the English Standard Version (take note of how many times the word “immediately” pops up in the first few chapters). It’s quick and snappy in its tone and pace, but doesn’t compromise any of the “meat” that points us to the truth: Jesus is the promised “Messiah, the Son of God” (Mark 1:1).

While we may be taking a short break over the Christmas Season, we encouraged you to keep up with the daily readings, our next in-person Family Bible Study will be taking place at 6pm on January 5th, 2023.

And if you’re just joining in… don’t worry, we’ve set this all up so anyone can jump in at any time. The reading plan can be downloaded and added to your mobile device’s calendar at this link. We also still have a $5 discount on offer at Creation Bookstore if you need to purchase a new bible for yourself, or a friend or family member.

I encourage everyone to watch this short video overview of Mark’s Gospel, some very interesting insights in terms of structure and theme. Enjoy!

In Him,
Pastor Pete
