Vision & Practice
We are present in the Chelsea Green neighbourhood to see the Good News of Jesus Christ have an impact in lives of our neighbours. The following three “pillars” serve as the foundation for how we live out this mission of Jesus…
Seek the lost
Grow in Christ
Build our community
Seeking the Lost: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10
We aim to seek the lost in Chelsea Green through personal engagement with our neighbours, community events, and evangelistic efforts. Our aim is to reach those people in Chelsea Green who do not yet know the forgiveness, love, grace, and mercy of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We want to be visible and active participants in the everyday life of Chelsea Green, serving our neighbours where they live, work, and play.
Grow in Christ: “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
As followers of Christ, we are called to grow in our love, faith, and knowledge of Jesus. This is a lifelong process and it isn’t done in isolation. It is done in the everyday, life-on-life reality of a group of Jesus followers and it exemplified in the “One Another” statements found throughout the New Testament. We aim to provide an environment at CGCC where people can come to experience and know Jesus through gospel-centered preaching, discipleship groups, and discipleship.
Build our Community: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14
We love Chelsea Green. As Christians, we look out into the world and know how it once was in the beginning and how it will be when Christ returns. Yet, that’s not what it looks like now. Our aim is to be a light in our community by advocating for the voiceless, to standing up for those that suffer injustice, and walking alongside those who are broken. We will invest into individuals and families in Chelsea Green, because they are made in the image of God.
