We believe that true Church isn’t just sitting in a building for an hour once a week, but it’s lived out in the day-to-day and life-on-life reality of being in relationship with other Christians.
So, we’re really excited to be launching Chelsea Green Community Groups starting this Fall.
Community Groups are where church becomes family.
As a church body, we come together on Sunday mornings to hear God’s Word preached and raise our voices in praise to the Lord, but community groups provide us with an opportunity to gather in a smaller, more informal setting to care for one another and apply Scripture to our lives.
Community Groups gather on a regular basis to share a meal together, care for one another, and discuss how the Gospel is impacting how they live out their faith.
Community Groups serve as the primary vehicle for discipleship, shepherding, counseling and care within our church. If you have a need, or if you’re struggling through a difficult time… even if you are celebrating something awesome – your Community Group serves as the extended family that gathers close around you with acts of love, service, and grace.
Some Nuts & Bolts…
You don’t need to be a member of our church to join a CGCC Community Group. But, if you’re interested in joining a Community Group and come from a church other than our two sending churches (Summerside Community Church or Stoney Creek Baptist), you will be required to attend CGCC 101.
Think of CGCC 101 as a launchpad into community groups where we get together to share a meal, you meet and get to know the pastors, and talk about some of the core beliefs of our church. CGCC 101 will run three times a year in January, May, and September.
